Pitlochry and Tayside, Scotland
For the past two years I have journeyed to the transcendent highlands in Pitlochry Scotland for archaeology field school in June. While it can sometimes be hard working outside in Scotland's notorious weather, the camaraderie of the teams, the beauty, the project work, and the exceptional leadership provide a unique growth experience.
Along with visiting the historical remains of an integral part of Scotland’s history, we received training in historical research, historic map analysis, archaeological field survey, monument recording, GIS training, Photographic survey and Historic Building survey.
The 2019 project continued mapping Wade's Road, an 18th-century British military road, and the associated clearance settlements along the way. Check out the stones we found this year! What do you make of them?

What are these holes?
